EMF awards research grants to all clinicians providing direct clinical care to patients in an emergency within Queensland public hospital EDs, ambulance and retrieval services. The Queensland Research Program funded by Queensland Health offers six grant schemes catering for clinician researchers at different career stages and with different funding needs. The Trauma Care Program supports frontline clinicians in the management of trauma patients. The Patient Flow Program focuses on effective solutions to improve flow through EDs across the state.
Queensland Research Program
EMF’s flagship research program is funded by Queensland Health. The Program includes grant schemes open to all Queensland Health clinicians engaged in providing direct clinical care to patients in an emergency and has led to the growth of emergency medicine research in Queensland.
Trauma Care in Regional, Remote and Rural Queensland
This Special Research Grants Program aims to empower frontline clinicians in the management of regional, rural and remote trauma. It offers clinician-researchers support in their navigation of the research path, to ensure that their ideas and voices are heard. EMF thanks the Motor Accident Insurance Commission for funding this program.
Improving Patient Flow in Queensland Public Hospitals
Jointly funded by EMF and Queensland Health, this research program’s aim is to find effective and evidence-based solutions to improve patient flow in Queensland’s public hospitals. It consists of two parallel approaches: a study to analyse patient flow in Queensland public hospitals and a Special Funding Round.
