This Special Research Grants Program aims to empower frontline clinicians in regional, rural and remote Queensland in the management of trauma patients. Clinician-researchers will be offered support in their navigation of the research path, to ensure that their ideas and voices are heard.

Through this program, EMF supports the development of an evidence base to improve the emergency care of trauma patients, particularly those affected by road trauma in regional, rural and remote Queensland. The program also seeks to identify barriers to optimal care and translate research findings into improvements in clinical practice and health policy.

To support clinician-researchers along the research pathway, EMF provides access to research training scholarships for clinicians new to research, mentoring support during grant application development and project delivery, and funding for short to medium-term research projects aligned with program priorities.

This program is funded by the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC).
