EMF’s flagship grants program offers six grant schemes catering for clinician researchers at different career stages and with different funding needs.

 

In the Queensland Research Program, EMF invests in clinician-led projects supporting innovations that enhance patient care, strengthen the emergency workforce, and drive system-wide improvements.

Through research capacity building initiatives, EMF fosters collaboration, provides training, and equips clinicians with the skills to undertake impactful research across diverse locations. Thanks to these efforts, Queensland now boasts a growing cohort of high-achieving emergency medicine clinician-researchers who are helping improve patient outcomes within the Queensland healthcare system, as well as internationally.

Grant Round 46 opens on 8 June 2026 for four grant schemes.

Emerge

closes 31 August 2026

Up to $12,000 for short-term projects (6 to 12 months).
Supports novice researchers undertaking small studies.
Requires a nominated mentor for research guidance.
