Finance, Risk and Audit Committee

Jon Tyers is a Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years’ experience in Lead Internal Audit roles in the financial services industry. He is a former Deputy Chair of the Australian Auditing & Assurance Standards Board and a former member of the NSW Treasury Audit & Risk Committee. Mr Tyers is Chair of EMF’s Finance, Risk, and Audit Committee and was appointed to the EMF Board in 2022.

Cathy Montesin is the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary with Affinity Education Group. Prior to joining Affinity, She was a Director at InterFinancial Corporate Finance, providing specialist advisory services in mergers and acquisitions, sourcing private equity capital, and strategic financial advice. Ms Montesin spent 15 years in the Transaction Advisory Services teams at PwC and Ernst & Young in Brisbane, Sydney and San Francisco, undertaking valuation, due diligence, financial modelling, capital raising and Independent Expert Reports for public, private and government entities. During this time, she was the Queensland representative on the National Business Valuation Special Interest Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. 

Susanne Le Boutillier
BA, GDIR Bus, GradCert Bus, GAICD

Susanne Le Boutillier has worked in senior positions in state government human services for more than twenty-five years, in both the health and community services sector.  She has expertise in large scale reform and the development and execution of strategy having led the health reform transition office to establish Hospital and Health Services in Queensland. In addition, she also has broad experience in governance, achieving change, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and program management having worked across areas such as human resources, industrial relations, strategic policy, health workforce, and clinical education strategy.  Ms Le Boutillier has held senior roles providing direct support to Director-Generals and Ministerial Offices. She has an arts degree from the University of Queensland, post graduate business qualifications from the Queensland University of Technology and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Martin Heads is a Director with Deloitte Commercial Advisory, specialising in Health Advisory. He has significant strategic finance, health service and hospital executive skills developed while working at all levels of the health system. He spent over 8 years with the Metro North Hospital and Health Service, as its first Chief Finance Officer and a key part of establishing its executive, before taking the role of General Manager, Health Funding and Analysis leading a team of 60. Previously he worked with Queensland Health and BDO Kendalls. A Queensland University of Technology alumni, Mr Heads holds bachelor’s degrees in Business (Accounting) and Laws, and memberships with the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a volunteer with the Youth Housing Project.

Simon James
BA(Hons) Business Studies, FAICD

With a background in healthcare, community services and sports management, Simon James brings twelve years executive leadership experience and 7 years in governance as a non-executive director and board committee member in the profit and not-for-profit sectors. He has taken on executive roles with a Primary Health Network, community services organisations, a national pharmacy operator, a private cancer care group and two of Australia’s largest hospital operators.
