New EMF grant round open

June 2020

The Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) has opened funding round 34, with a total of $500,000 available in Leading Edge and Jumpstart grants.

Since our first Queensland Research Program grants were awarded in 2008, the EMF has supported innovative research that revolutionises emergency healthcare.

With more than $18 million in research funding awarded to date, EMF programs are integral to building and sustaining an active emergency medicine research culture in Queensland.

This commitment includes an adaptive and flexible approach to supporting researchers. In 2018, the Queensland Research Program was updated to allow all clinicians providing direct clinical care to patients in an emergency to apply. Since the changes were introduced, we have proudly awarded several grants to nurses and paramedics to lead vital research projects.

After running a special funding round in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EMF has now resumed its usual annual grants program, with round 34 forming part of the 2020 funding calendar.

Interested researchers must apply by 5pm on Monday 17 August 2020 to be considered for this funding round. Please note: the round 34 deadline has been extended due to the Ekka public holiday on Friday 14 August.

An important reminder for applicants, the usual ethics and certification requirements will return and form part of the application process for round 34. Find out more.
