Vacancy: Communications Manager

The Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) is seeking a self-driven, innovative Communications Manager to contribute to profile building and advocacy programs that position EMF as a leading voice in emergency healthcare research.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will have responsibility for the EMF brand, media and social media activities, marketing collateral, website, funding proposals, periodic reports and an Annual Report. Most importantly, you will produce attractive content to showcase EMF-funded research to a wide range of stakeholders in government, healthcare industry and the general public.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a ‘roll-up your sleeves’ can-do attitude.  We envisage this appointment being approximately 3 days per week with negotiable hours.

Skills and experience

You will have a minimum of eight years in a communications role, ideally with communications experience within the not-for-profit, health, government and/or research sectors. Graduate qualification in communications or journalism and an understanding of the health sector will be highly regarded.

In previous roles, you will have successfully led communications activities aimed at building an organisation’s brand and reputation. Most importantly, you will be an expert in translating materials written for a medical and scientific audience into understandable and ‘inspiring’ copy for stakeholders ranging from government, health sector, philanthropy to the general public.
