Clinician research funding: why it’s important

Emergency medicine specialist, Professor Louise Cullen spoke to EMF, explaining why investing in clinician-led research is so important.

Professor Cullen is an EMF-funded researcher who is a world leader in troponin and the rapid diagnosis of chest pain. She is based at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and holds appointments with the Queensland University of Technology and The University of Queensland.

Since 2008, EMF has invested more $14 million in clinician-led research. This research has generated more than $100 million in economic benefits for healthcare in Australia.
