Vacancy: Grants Officer

The Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) is seeking a self-driven, innovative an experienced and self-driven Grants Officer.

About the role

EMF is looking for an experienced and self-driven Grants Officer to join our small but collaborative and supportive team.

Reporting to the Research Manager and working with the Grants Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the full range of grants administration tasks at EMF. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support all aspects of grant round administration, including prepare documentation, verify accuracy and completeness of grants information, liaise with grant applicants and reviewers, and organise meetings;
  • Support post-award grant management, including coordinate grant reporting / acquittal obligations, provide administrative support to EMF staff, grant recipients and administering institutions to ensure compliance and resolve issues as required;
  • Ensure appropriate maintenance of grants information and documentation on SmartyGrants and EMF’s shared drives;
  • Support EMF staff, grant recipients, Board and committees with research related queries.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a ‘roll-up your sleeves’ can-do attitude, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to attend to multiple, competing tasks. We envisage this appointment being approximately 3 days per week with negotiable hours.

Skills and experience

You must have a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role, ideally within the not-for-profit, health and/or research sectors. You have sound knowledge of grants administration processes, MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Power Point), excellent communication and organisational skills as well as a good understanding of project management.

Experience with SmartyGrants or a similar online grants management platform is essential.
