DAY 1: Thursday, 24th August 2017

Acute Care Research and Translation Workshop

The full-day workshop will provide participants with key lessons for research design, conducting collaborative and multi-site research, and research translation including the development of new clinical guidelines and clinical roll-outs.

The Workshop will include a research translation stream, the KT Roadmap, run by Dr Tamika Heiden who is the Principal of Knowledge Translation Australia.

DAY 2: Friday, 25th August 2017

Research Symposium

Invited speakers will cover areas critical to emergency medicine research.

Highlights include:

  • Our key note speaker, Professor Kathryn Maitland, will provide an overview of the use of fluid resuscitation in sepsis and the international collaboration into treating respiratory illness in the ED, which has grown out of Australian research.
  • Collaborative research improving service delivery in the ED
  • A panel discussion on research developments in key areas of emergency medicine.
  • The opportunity to contribute to a panel discussion on the future of emergency research in Australia.

Twilight drinks and awards: 24th August 2017

EMF will host a 10-year awards and artisan wine and cheese event from 5:30pm -7:30pm following the workshop on Day 1. This event will recognise individuals who have had a significant impact on emergency medicine in Queensland as well as provide an opportunity for networking. All Workshop and Symposium delegates are invited to attend, with additional tickets to this evening event available for purchase by partners and supporters of emergency medicine.
