Motorists are being urged to drive safely on the roads this Easter as the Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) is gearing up to save more lives following accidents through its world-class research program.
With funding from Queensland Health, EMF has invested more than $1 million to traumatic injury research projects since 2008.
Our researchers are looking to combat the loss of Australian lives from trauma through cutting-edge medical research.
Traumatic injury is the leading cause of death in people under 45 in Australia. Each year, almost half a million people are admitted to hospital with an injury, with 27 dying each day—almost 10,000 lives are lost each year.
